 As Bush and Co are continuing the slaughter of the Iraqi people, the antiwar movement is intensifying its activities all around the globe. It is at times like these that active resistance to the war and the demand posed to the Greek government to close down the US military installations as well as for the country not to have any participation to this war machine, has become a bounden duty.
With their large antiwar uprising the Greek people have bluntly stated their position: 

No to the imperialist war  - no Greek participation.

The Greek government, despite its peaceful declarations at times, has in reality proven that it goes along with the deadly US war machine. It allows as much facilitation as Bushs hawks and their colleagues ask for. It yields Greek ground and makes the country an accessory to the slaughtering of the Iraqi people.
The very function of the Souda installation, the largest one in eastern Mediterranean, consists a provocative insult to the Greek people. Americans are acting like conquerors, spreading chemicals, and practically constituting an occupation army. They forbid the flight of any aircraft that does not belong to their carriers -even inside the Greek airspace.

On 5-6 April the Greek Social Forum is organising a national action for the encirclement and blockade of the US war and death installation in Souda.

The Greek Social Forum of the media workers is participating in this action. It deems the presence of all imperative so as to close down this installation of death, to stop the war machine and to reveal the policy followed by Simitis government which uses the alibi of conventional obligations, in order to support the imperialist war.
